Experience Center
 
The experience center is an in-house learning center focused on teaching developmentally disabled adults everyday skills, such as counting money, telling time, table manners, job skills, basic math, reading, computer skills, social skills, and much more!  Training topics depend on individual goals.
 
Activity Center
 
The activity center is an in-house learning center focused on teaching developmentally disabled adults skills based on their current interests, such as beadwork, arts and crafts, computer skills, social skills, color recognition, drawing, coloring, and much more.  Training topics are based on individual interests and goals.

Clubs
 
 
The Civic Club
 
The Civic Club focuses on getting members involved with their local community by showing citizenship.  They say the "Pledge of Allegiance", sing the "National Anthem", and raise the American Flag each morning.  Members are also taught how to properly fold the flag.  They also support the troops and veterans!
 
The Dance Club
 
The Dance Club teaches members different styles of dance around the world.  They watch videos and leaders demonstrate steps.  They also focus on the fitness aspect of dance, such as how to have fun while working out and proper stretching techniques.
 
The Fitness Club
 
The Fitness Club focuses on teaching members how to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  They exercise and discuss healthy eating habits.  They also allow members the opportunity to visit the local gym.  This is a great program at Burnt Mountain Center.
 
The Cooking Club
 
The Cooking Club teaches members cooking safety, such as how to properly handle a knife, how to keep from getting burned while cooking, and proper food handling techniques.  They also teach members basic cooking skills and allow them the opportunity to create simple dishes.
 
 
The Drama Club
 
The Drama Club introduces members to different styles of theatre, including movies, plays, and skits.  They make puppets and put on puppet shows to practice scripts, act out their own scenes, and also take trips to different theatrical events and school drama classes.
 
The Sports Club
 
The Sports Club focuses on different sports, including baseball, football, and basketball.  They have visited the Falcons Training Camp recently.  They play different sports in their spare time and teach members teamwork and social skills as well as encourage fitness.
 
 
Other Activities
 
The Burnt Mountain Center Choir
 
 
The Burnt Mountain Center Choir is a group of music-lovers who enjoy getting together daily to sing Gospel songs.  The Piano Player is one of BMC's very own participants.  They also enjoy visiting local nursing homes and have also starred on local television.
 
 
 
 
The Georgia Special Olympics
 
 
Each year, Burnt Mountain Center teams up with the local schools to participate in a division of the Georgia Special Olympics.  They compete in different events including the softball throw, the 100-meter dash, the long jump, and others.  They have a lot of fun!
